Save a Life Cymru

Save a Life Cymru was established following the publication of the Welsh Government’s Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest Plan in 2017 and it sits within the Wales Cardiac Network in the NHS Wales Health Collaborative.

Our vision is to create a cultural change across Wales where the Welsh public understand the need to help anyone who suffers a collapse because their heart has stopped beating, and to have the skills and confidence to start CPR and defibrillation, and help save a life.

Our recent public information campaign ‘Touch Someone’s Life' began in October 2020 and focuses on encouraging people to learn or refresh their CPR skills to help save a life.

An out of hospital cardiac arrest is the medical term that describes the condition when an individual, who is out and about living their life in the community, collapses because their heart has stopped beating.
