Financial Planning and Delivery: Ensuring financial sustainability and delivery, alongside maximising the impact and use of health and social care spending in Wales.

Networks and Planning: Delivering Ministerial directions and priorities via the National Clinical Framework, supported by strategic clinical and implementation networks and programmes.

Quality, Safety and Improvement: Translating the policy direction and standards set by Welsh Government into action that improves the quality and safety of healthcare in Wales.

Strategic Programme for Planned Care: Leading the national programme and developing an implementation plan for the delivery of the five goals of planned care.

Strategic Programme for Mental Health: Improving safety and outcomes by reducing unwarranted service variation, whilst working towards equity and parity between physical and mental health services.

National Programme for Six Goals for Urgent and Emergency Care: The Programme oversees delivery of the six policy goals that span the urgent and emergency care pathway.

Digital, Technology, Innovation and Value: A new directorate bringing together staff from the Welsh Value in Health Centre as well as staff from Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Cymru (joining in September 2024).

National Clinical Framework: Improving patient outcomes and supporting the planning and delivery of resilient clinical services.
