Consultation - adult specialised endocrinology service specification

The NHS Wales Health Collaborative is currently undertaking consultation on a proposed Service Specification for adult specialised endocrinology services for Welsh residents.

This document has been developed by a task and finish group commissioned to develop the service specification on behalf of the NHS Wales Health Collaborative. The task and finish group included representation from all Health Boards across Wales, and representation from NHS England, GIRFT and BAETS.

The aim is to produce a service specification to inform the commissioning of these services by Health Boards. This document is now being issued for a six-week consultation from 27 May to 8 July 2022.  As part of this process, we would be grateful if you could review and comment on the proposed Service Specification, and we would particularly value your feedback on the following questions:

  • Is the proposed Service Specification clear?
  • Which areas will have the biggest impact on practice and be challenging to implement?
  • Does the document contain any material inaccuracies or omissions with regard to the available evidence?
  • Does the Service Specification identify all the parameters of a safe, high quality service or are there other issues that need to be included?
  • Are there any equality issues (particularly in relation to the Welsh population) which should be considered as part of the development of this document?

A proforma has been provided for you to return your comments. To facilitate analysis of feedback, only comments submitted on this proforma will be accepted.

Please could you return the completed proforma by 12 midday on 8 July 2022 to the following email address: Rachel.Davies@wales.nhs.uk

Comments received past the deadline will be reviewed but may not be accepted or receive a formal response.
